Shopify messages tend to include a generic, but friendly, text about how your support is important for local businesses. Precisely because I believe this, I prefer to write this message myself. No automation, no help from Chat GPT.
Ponto Alto is a local yarn shop, focused on Portuguese yarn brands. I decided to create it for several reasons: the wear and tear of corporate life, my love for crochet, having become a mother and wanting autonomy, and not knowing of any place where I could find my favorite Portuguese yarn brands.
I could say that it's all new to me, that's how I feel. But when I was a little child, I often went to my grandmother Helena's shop. I loved serving customers and the calm of the downtime. It's true that there were many comic books to read, and I took gummies and ice cream as payment, but I think I was never bored there. There's always something to do in a shop, but there's also space to breathe, something that isn't always available in other workplaces. People stop to check what's new and have a little chat, to share the day's events, what they've done and are going to do, the smiles they plan to give to those they love.
Thanks to Benedita, Carla, and Maria João, starting this week, Ponto Alto will host another one of these spaces. Every Wednesday, from 3 pm to 5 pm, the shop's table becomes a meeting point for needles and projects in hand, waiting for anyone who wants to come work out and have a little fun. Everyone is welcome.
